SPRING RECITAL DATE - MAY 20th AND 21st, 2022: We have the privilege of being able to return to having our 2022 Spring Recital at Shawnee Mission West High School! This is a beautiful facility, with spaced-out areas to ensure a safe, professional, and exciting performance opportunity for your dancer! This venue has a large stage, professional lighting, and sound as well as large capacity for seating. In order to have this venue, our recital weekend is May 20th and 21st.
GENERAL TIMELINE - May 20th & 21st:
Friday, May 20th - Dress Rehearsal at Shawnee Mission West
Click HERE for the dress rehearsal schedule. Parents will check in dancers in the auditorium, there will be dressing rooms available if dancers need to change, and parents will be able to wait there to assist dancers. The auditorium will be closed to all non-performers. Parents and dancers need to arrive at the check-in time, and dancers need to be in full costume with appropriate shoes, performance hair (listed on their costume card), and makeup.
Parents will check in dancers in the auditorium, there will be dressing rooms available if dancers need to change, and parents will be able to wait there to assist dancers. The auditorium will be closed to all non-performers.
APPROXIMATELY 4:45-6:30pm: Stars/Mini Dress Rehearsals (click HERE for the schedule).
APPROXIMATELY 6:15-7:45pm: Level I-II Dress Rehearsals (Once dancers have rehearsed all numbers, they are free to go, click HERE for the schedule).
APPROXIMATELY 6:30-9:00pm: Level III+ Dress Rehearsals (Once dancers have rehearsed all numbers, they are free to go, click HERE for the schedule).
Saturday, May 21st - Spring Recital at Shawnee Mission West!

8:00am: Ballet Rehearsal Check-in (For all dancers who are enrolled in Ballet I-II through Ballet IV+).
8:30-10:30am: Ballet Rehearsal (Dancers need to come in what they wear to ballet class with their hair and make-up done for the ballet).
12:00pm: Ballet Check in
12:30-1:30pm: Sleeping Beauty Ballet (Ballet classes Levels I-II through IV+)
1:30pm: Show 1 Recital Check in
2:00pm-3:30pm: Show 1 Recital
3:30pm-3:45pm: Show 2 Recital Check In
4:00pm-5:15pm: Show 2 Recital
PARENT DANCE:
We invite all parents and dancers of all ages to participate in our Parent Dance! Each Spring Recital Show will have the parent dance, where parents and dancers come on stage together during the show.
We will have 2 rehearsals for parents and dancers to learn the routine. We will be sending out videos and uploading them here to any family who wants to practice at home! All dancers and parents who attend one or both rehearsals will be listed as performing. If you are planning on performing and will NOT attend a rehearsal, please email the office so we know which dancers/parents will be performing in the routine.

TICKET SALES:
Families will receive 2 tickets that were included in the performance event fee. If your dancer/dancers are in multiple shows, we will divide the 2 tickets based on which shows your dancer(s) are in. Feel free to drop by the office with your tickets if you would like the two tickets allocated differently than what was filled. Additional tickets will be available for purchase starting TODAY through your Studio Director account. Click HERE for instructions on how to purchase tickets. All ticket sales are final.
Adult Ticket Prices (ages 9+):
One show - $20
Two shows - $30
All shows - $40
Child Ticket Prices (ages 3-8):
One show - $10
Two shows - $15
All shows - $20

Ticket pick-up will begin on Monday, May 9th, 2022 for all tickets in the JPDC lobby. Tickets must be ordered online before Wednesday, May 18th at 7:00pm. After that time, tickets will need to be purchased at the door the day of the performance for an increased price.
Dancers do not need tickets to go see the other shows (for example: if they are watching a sibling or friend). Attendees who are aged 3 or older will need a ticket. There is a CHILD TICKET option for all children who are ages 3-8 years old. ADULT TICKETS are for all attendees ages 9+.
If your dancer is in Ballet I-II, Ballet III or Ballet IV+ - the below information pertains to you! If your dancer is in the ballet class, they will be performing in our ballet production of "Sleeping Beauty"! They will be learning their routines in class. Please reach out if you have any questions regarding the ballet production.
ALL the ballet classes (Ballet I-II, Ballet III, Ballet IV+ and Ballet Academy) will perform in the Sleeping
Beauty Production on Saturday, May 21st at 12:30pm. See below for the schedule for the upcoming weekend:
Recital Day! (Saturday, May 21st at Shawnee Mission West):
ALL Ballet dancers are required to be at this morning rehearsal at Shawnee Mission West before the performance:
8:00am: Ballet Rehearsal Check-in (For all ballet dancers who are enrolled in Ballet I-II, Ballet III & Ballet IV+).

If your dancer is in the following recital show(s), they will be checked in again for that specific show after they are changed into their costume for the next show!
If you have any questions at all please reach out - note that scheduling details such as times won’t be solidified until a later time. We are so thankful for all of your dancers to be participating in our recital this year, your dancers have overcome unthinkable challenges, and being able to express themselves through dance and being able to show friends and family will be a beautiful gift for the dancers, families, friends and us at JPDC. We truly appreciate you all being part of our JPDC family and this very special dance community!
